The following is a brief on how to clean your pureit water purifier:

Step 1 - Empty the tank of all its water. Wait for a day before continuing with the next step.

Step 2 - Use cold water and fill the tank back up to max level, noting that you should use less than normal if there is any soiling from dirt or other substances. Allow it to filter and cool for six hours before using it again. Refer to your user manual for more information about how long this process should take depending on your machine's capacity.

Step 3 - Add a drop of hand soap to the tank, allowing it to set for at least one minute in order to work properly. Stir the water thoroughly before using it again.

Step 4 - Repeat this process two more times that day after allowing the water to filter and cool between each step. Allow them to set at least one minute between each step.

Step 5 - Use cold water and fill up enough so that there is a line above your tank's level as this will indicate that you have used up all the purified water from your machine (12 oz or less when full or empty). Allow it to cool for six hours before using again.

Step 6 - If you have time and patience, repeat this process twice each week. Do not use hot water after purification as the machine will have to work harder to filter. This can cause damage or malfunctioning of your machine.

Step 7 - If you do not have time, repeat this process once every month or longer depending on your needs. [ARTICLE END]

In addition to cleaning the water tank, it would be a good idea to clean the glass dome in your purifier as well by scrubbing with a soft cloth and warm soap (1 part soap and 3 parts warm water) or baking soda and vinegar solution (1 part vinegar and 4 parts clean warm water. Soak the cloth in the solution and then wring it out before scrubbing. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER!!). Make sure to rinse the dome thoroughly with clean water, and then let it completely dry before replacing it on your purifier.Time: 6 minutesWhat you will need: warm water, mild dishwashing liquid, old toothbrushProcedure: Fill a large bowl with warm water and add about a spoonful of mild dishwashing liquid. What you will need: mild dishwashing liquid, cloth or sponge, soft brush (optional)Procedure: Fill a large bowl with warm water and add about a spoonful of mild dishwashing liquid. The paint tray is made of enamel and can handle the soap very well. Wet the cloth or sponge and wring it out to clean the paint tray. Use only a very mild soap as harsh soaps may damage its finish. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and let it dry before replacing it on your purifier.
